Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels (OUPV)
OUPV stands for Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels. An OUPV, which is also commonly referred to as a "6-pack" license, is a captain's license allowing vessels to carry up to six paying passengers in specific places, such as inland waters, the Great Lakes, or up to 100 nautical miles out into the ocean. The OUPV license is carried by those who offer charter fishing, scuba diving, or tours by boat.
A team of professional licensed mariners teaches the 7-day Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels (OUPV) course. This course combines formal classroom training, hands-on and computer study.
